Peace and Reconciliation- Journey Towards Reign of God

Three days seminar on the theme “Peace and Reconciliation: Journey Towards the Reign of God” commenced with a brief prayer, followed by a warm welcome to guests from around the globe by Fr. Raj Kumar, the principal of Vidyajyoti. The chief guest, his Eminence Cardinal Antony Poola, inaugurated the seminar by symbolically lighting a lamp. In his inaugural address, he highlighted a few of Vidyajyoti’s achievements and encouraged the faculty and students to continue to contribute intellectually and socially to the mission of Christ. Most Rev. Anil J.T. Couto, Metropolitan Archbishop of Delhi and Patron of VJ congratulated the entire VJ Family for taking a step towards bringing peace and reconciliation to this tumultuous world. In his keynote address, most Rev. Lourdu Anandam, Bishop of Sivagangai, emphasised the essence of “Public Theology and Ecclesial Leadership in Peace Building.” He stressed that our theology should not confine us to seminaries or institutions but should lead us to engage with people of different colours, creeds, and nations.

The second day of the seminar delved into international and interdisciplinary perspectives on peace and reconciliation. The concluding day of the seminar was focused on showcasing best practices in reconciliation and peace efforts.
