JYMSA Annual Meet 2026 at Vinayalaya, Mumbai

The JYMSA Annual Meeting was held at Vinayalaya, Mumbai, bringing together Jesuit youth ministry coordinators from across South Asia for three days of prayer, reflection, reporting, and planning. The meeting emphasized a renewed focus on ministry among “unreached youth,” a term unanimously adopted in place of “unorganized youth,” aligning with Universal Apostolic Preferences’ call to walk with the excluded and accompanying the youth.

Key discussions highlighted the challenges facing youth today, including limited resources, the need for stronger accompanying the youth, and the importance of collaboration with the parishes, and social organizations. Participants stressed moving beyond event management toward sustained accompaniment and leadership formation, envisioning youth as apostles rather than mere participants.

Important announcements included MAGIS 2026 in Jaipur, World MAGIS 2027 in South Korea, and World Youth Day 2027. The Jaipur MAGIS will be held from 17–19 October 2026, with 30 participants from each province. World MAGIS 2027 will host up to 150 participants from Jesuits of South Asia Conference.

Sessions by resource persons enriched the meeting, notably on youth ministry pathways, discernment retreats, and the MDH digital platform. Zonal sharing outlined concrete plans under the common banner of “Magis Youth,” fostering unity, collaboration, and Ignatian spirituality across provinces. The meeting concluded with strong hope, clarity of direction, and a commitment to intentional planning for unreached youth.
