Central Zone Provinces hold Liturgy Workshop at Asha Deep Spirituality Centre

The Central Zone Provinces of Service of Fatih (SOF) gathered from 10–12 February 2026 at the Asha Deep Spirituality Centre for a three-day workshop on the theme “Liturgy.” The workshop brought together 50 participants from various provinces for reflection, learning, and fellowship.

The resource person for the workshop was Fr. Valerian Lobo of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Jamshedpur. He guided the participants through a reflective and action-oriented pastoral approach to liturgy, helping them deepen their understanding and practical engagement in liturgical celebrations.

The main sessions were held on 11 February and commenced with the Holy Eucharist. The main celebrant was Fr. Alphonse Tirkey, S.J., Superior of the house. Four informative and interactive sessions were conducted during the day. The participants actively engaged in discussions, raising questions and seeking clarifications, which led to fruitful exchanges and greater clarity on various aspects of liturgy. The sessions proved enriching and enlightening for all.

On the final day, the group undertook a pilgrimage. The Holy Eucharist was celebrated in the morning, with Fr. Valerian Lobo as the main celebrant. After breakfast, the participants visited the Shrine at Pathrai, a diocesan parish of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Ambikapur in Manpath. The shrine complex includes a church, an English-medium school, and the tomb of Fr. Lt. Jan Bulcken, S.J., a great missionary of the Madhya Pradesh Province. The participants paid homage to the late missionary and appreciated his dedicated service.

The workshop not only enriched the participants’ understanding of liturgy but also provided a valuable opportunity to reconnect after many years. Special thanks were extended to Fr. Zacharias Lakra, Province Coordinator of SOF, for organizing the workshop, and to the Director, Superior, and Minister of the house for their generous hospitality and support.
