Social Analysis Course: Awakening to India’s Socio-Political Reality

On 10–11 July 2025, Satya Nilayam organised a Social Analysis Course titled Subaltern Perspectives on India’s Socio-Political Reality, led by Fr Selvaraj SJ (ISI Bangalore). He  highlighted how nearly 75% of India’s population—Dalits, Adivasis, OBCs, and minorities—remain marginalised.

Patriarchy, caste, and religious fundamentalism, reinforced by politics, economy, and culture, continue to sustain oppression. Issues such as gender-based violence, caste exploitation, tribal displacement, and economic inequality reveal deep systemic injustice. Fr Selvaraj urged the scholastics to embrace the Jesuit mission of faith that does justice, fostering solidarity and inclusive action for a just India.
