Deepening Discipleship: Tertianship Journey at Shenbaganur

Shenbaganur, September 2025 — The Tertianship programme at Sacred Heart College unfolded as a journey of grace, reflection, and renewal. The experience began with pilgrimages to Oriyur, Bodhi Zendo, and La Salette, preparing the tertians to enter deeply into the Spiritual Exercises under the guidance of Fr. Arul Sivan (MDU). The retreat proved transformative, helping participants discern God’s call with clarity and devotion.

Post-retreat sessions enriched their formation further: Fr. Pavulraj (MDU) led a study of the Spiritual Exercises, Fr. Illanko Xavier (CEN) guided discernment dynamics, Fr. Leonard (MDU) shared insights on Jesuit history, and Fr. Santosh Minj (HAZ) deepened  understanding through Ignatius’ letters.

The community also marked two special occasions: the 75th birthday of Fr. Arul Sivan on August 25, celebrated with gratitude and joy, and Ecology Day on September 1, with a Eucharistic service affirming the Jesuit commitment to care for creation. The phase of Tertianship was truly a profound grace — a time of prayer, study, and renewal in the footsteps of Christ.
