Annual Meeting of the Service of Faith Coordinators Held at Manresa, Ranchi

The annual meeting of the Service of Faith Coordinators of the South Asian Conference was held at Manresa, Ranchi, from September 26 to 28, 2025, graciously hosted by the Ranchi Province. The meeting was inaugurated by Fr Jerome Stanislaus D’Souza, SJ (POSA), who reminded participants that the Service of Faith remains central to the Jesuit mission and encouraged reflections rooted in a synodal vision of the Church.

The highlight of the meeting was the presentation by Fr A. Joseph Xavier, SJ (MDU), who unveiled the Pastoral Plan: Journeying towards a Synodal Church – Mission 2033. He inspired participants to imagine new pathways of ministry, emphasizing collaboration, inclusion, and renewal. His clear and pastorally sensitive framework provided both direction and practical steps for action in the years ahead.

Two sessions on Youth Catechesis, led by Fr Savari Joseph (PUN) and Fr Kustas Lima (GOA), emphasized relational, contextual, and creative approaches to engage young people as active protagonists of faith. Another notable contribution was by Fr Francis Minj, SJ, who traced the history of the Ranchi Province, offering fresh insights into its struggles, growth, and enduring faith.

The three-day meeting concluded with sharing of experiences, visits to mission stations, and heartfelt gratitude to the Ranchi Province for their warm hospitality, particularly acknowledging the Province Coordinator, Fr Samir Dungdung, for his meticulous planning. Participants departed with a renewed sense of purpose and a shared commitment to journey together in the Service of Faith towards Mission 2033.
