Writing Skills for Jesuit Juniors at Vidyaniketan, Thiruvananthapuram
We, the Juniors of South India Common Juniorate (SICJ) Vidyaniketan, Thiruvananthapuram, had a two-day course on Media and Communication on 10-11 October 2024. On the first day, Fr. Dominic Antony SJ (KER) expounded on Journalism. Fr. Vernard Antony SJ (DUM), Coordinator of the Media Communication of South Asia, inspired us with his input on how to use the media rightly to spread the good news. On the second day, Mr Gauridasan Nair, the retired chief editor of the Kerala Hindu newspaper, was the resource person. He gave a clear picture of the pros and cons of media in this world. He also shared his experiences as a journalist. We benefitted very much from this course. We prepared a newspaper model with colorful depictions and news items as part of the course. Fr. Vernard SJ appreciated us. We specially thank Fr. Vernard SJ and Fr. Sheish Thomas SJ, Kerala JESCOM Coordinator, for coordinating and making this a fruitful course.
