The Jesuit Pilgrimage App now in Tamil & Hindi too!

JESUIT PILGRIMAGE: At Home or On a Journey is the venture of Jesuits, with a call to ‘Take a Tour!’  This Jesuit Pilgrimage App is now available in Hindi and Tamil and is freely downloadable on Google Play for Android and the App Store for Apple Mac. This update adds to the existing 8 languages, making the spiritual heritage of St. Ignatius and the Jesuits more accessible to millions. Whether you are planning a physical pilgrimage or exploring from home, the app offers sections like Text & audio meditations, Interactive maps and Stunning visuals & 360-degree tours.

Any pilgrim can discover Ignatian Places as portrayed in the high-quality graph as follows: Spain : Arévala, Pamplona, Loyola, Aránzazu, Montserrat, Manresa, Barcelona, Alcalá y Salamanca, Azpeitia, Italy: Rome, La Storta, Venice, Flanders, France: Rúan, Paris, France: Rúan, Paris. By glancing through a series of sample content photos including rooms of St. Ignatius in the profile page itself would attract any pilgrim to get in. Yes, the venture is powered by SOCIETY OF JESUS, GENERAL CURIA.

LENS (Loyola Education Network for Social Communicatons), the media unit of Jesuit Madurai Province has innovated the Tamil section in this precious pilgrimage app, which indeed is a trans-formative journey of faith. Dr Devadoss Mudippasamy SJ, then Socius of Madurai Province and Fr Vernard Antony SJ, JCSA Communications Coordinator, as the energetic advisers, Dr Pavulraj Michael SJ, the ex-extraordinary professor in Gregorian University as the text supervisor, and Mr. Sibi and Mrs. Viji as technicians have involved in the tedious process.

Manning the whole such vernacular venture in South Asia, Dr Xavier Antony, SJ, the Director of LENS and the Creative Head of Loyola TV Madurai has translated the 44 Jesuit pilgrimage spots along with general video messages from English to Tamil and given audio presentations too. Each pilgrimage spot contains sections as follow: Composition of place, Preamble, Prayer text and Points for prayer. This section indeed will unite Tamils wherever they are, as global Ignatian pilgrimage movement.

Happy to feel that Jesuit Madurai Province in South Asia has jumped on and started adding!

Xavier Antony SJ, Creative Head, Loyola TV Madurai & Vernard Antony SJ, JCSA Communications Coordinator.
