
MAGIS Hazaribag 2025: A Transformative Experience for Youth
Hazaribag Jesuit Youth Ministry successfully conducted MAGIS Hazaribag 2025 from March 13-16 at St. Xavier’s School, Bokaro. The event saw the active participation of 491 youth and 25 animators, creating an atmosphere of learning, reflection, and spiritual growth.
The program was organized under the leadership of Hazaribag Province Youth Coordinator, Fr. Nirmal Vincent Kullu SJ, along with commission members Fr. Manoj Roshan Kujur SJ, Fr. Rajendra Tete SJ, Fr. Anil Aind SJ, Fr. Silas Chandra Minj SJ, Fr. Francis Marian SJ, Fr. Roshan Kerketta SJ, and Fr. Christopher Kujur SJ. The event was inaugurated by Fr. Vincent Hansda SJ, the Provincial of Hazaribag Province, in the presence of Bishop Anand Jojo DD, who hoisted the MAGIS flag alongside Fr. Hansda.
On March 15, JCSA Youth Coordinator, Fr. Vernard Antony SJ, addressed the youth, emphasizing the importance of reaching out to unorganized youth and fostering inclusive engagement. The second day featured an inspiring address by Bishop Anand Jojo on the theme ‘Pilgrims of Hope.’ Fr. Provincial also spoke on ‘Pilgrims of Hope: Igniting Through Greater Love and Service and UAP 3,’ encouraging the youth to commit to social transformation.
In a series of thought-provoking sessions, Fr. Arun Minj explored the ‘Psycho-emotional-social Growth of Youth Today,’ while Fr. Arvind Beck highlighted the role of young people as ‘Leaders of the Country and Church.’ On the third day, Fr. Anupchand Minj SJ delved into critical issues such as migration, displacement, substance abuse, and the CNT and SPT Acts. Mr. Sasi Panna reinforced the significance of tribal identity and culture, while Mrs. Rajita Ekka shared her personal faith experience. Ms. Neelam Elin Toppo provided insights into education and job opportunities available for the youth.
Apart from these enriching sessions, participants engaged in meditation, examen, Holy Mass, confession, cultural programs, and the Magis Circle, fostering deeper spiritual and communal bonds. The event concluded with a solemn candle procession, the Magis word, and a concluding prayer, leaving the youth with renewed faith and purpose.
MAGIS Hazaribag 2025 proved to be a deeply transformative experience, equipping the youth with valuable insights and inspiration. As they returned to their parishes, they carried with them a sense of mission, hope, and commitment to greater love and service.
