AI for Media Content Generation, Media Training at De Nobili College, Pune

De Nobili College, Pune, successfully conducted a five-days Media Training focused on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in media content creation on 18-22 March, 2025. The course, deemed highly valuable by participants, aimed to equip students with practical skills in utilizing AI tools for various media outputs. The Training was led by Fr. Vernard Antony SJ, JCSA Communications Coordinator, who provided the initial introduction and context, and Fr. Maria Joseph SJ, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, who served as the primary resource person. Fr. Maria Joseph SJ initially guided the students through online sessions for two days, and his subsequent physical presence at DNC Pune was greatly appreciated by the participants. The student body comprised a diverse mix of Philosophy and Theology students, creating a rich learning environment with varied perspectives.

The Media Training covered a broad spectrum of AI-driven media creation tools and techniques, including:

  • ChatGPT for Video Scripting: Participants learned how to leverage ChatGPT for generating video scripts, streamlining the content creation process.
  • AI Video Creation with InVideo: Practical sessions were conducted on using AI platforms like InVideo to produce videos efficiently.
  • AI Voice Over Generation: Students explored techniques for creating voice overs using random voices and, notably, cloning their own voices, which was a particularly engaging experience.
  • Minute Taking with Otter.ai: The course introduced Otter.ai as a tool for automated minute taking, enhancing productivity.
  • Basic HTML Coding for Web Design: An introduction to HTML coding provided students with foundational web design skills.
  • Video Editing Session: Advanced video editing techniques using Da Vinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro were shared by experienced fellow students, enriching the practical aspect of the course.

 

The final day of the training was dedicated to group presentations, where students showcased videos created using the AI tools learned throughout the week. This practical application allowed students to synthesize their knowledge and demonstrate their newly acquired skills. The course was generally received positively. For beginners, it proved to be extremely useful, offering a comprehensive introduction to AI-powered media creation. Students with prior AI experience found the course valuable, though some content repetition was noted.

Overall, the media training on AI for media content generation was an enriching and knowledgeable experience for the participants. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical application, coupled with the expertise of the resource persons and the collaborative learning environment, contributed to the success of the course. The course has equipped the students of De Nobili College with very valuable skills for the digital age.
