The Jesuit Youth Ministry of South Asia (JYMSA) Annual Meeting 2025 was held from 25th to 28th April at the AICUFAshram, Campion School Campus, Bhopal, bringing together 17 youth coordinators from across the Conference of South Asia. The meeting served as a vibrant platform for reflection, sharing, and collective discernment.
The gathering began with a warm welcome from the MP Jesuits and AICUF members, followed by the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Fr Vernard Antony SJ, JCSA Youth Coordinator. A homage to Pope Francis marked the spiritual and inspirational start of the meeting.
Each coordinator presented their annual report, highlighting their region’s achievements, challenges, and future plans. These reports sparked engaging discussions and mutual encouragement. A particularly inspiring moment was the online sharing by four youth from the four zones, which energized the group and led to deeper reflection on reaching out to youth more effectively.
A key focus of the meeting was the JYMSA outreach to unorganized youth. The coordinators were greatly encouraged to take up this mission with renewed energy and commitment. The discussion led to creative ideas and concrete strategies for extending the youth ministry to this often-overlooked segment.
The meeting provided ample opportunities for sharing, fostering an atmosphere of openness and mutual support. Participants described the experience as meaningful and enriching, appreciating the time spent listening to one another’s journeys and insights.
The group also enjoyed a trip to a local museum, offering a moment of cultural exploration and relaxation amid the intensive discussions.
The meeting concluded with deep gratitude to Fr Virendra Xalxo, MP Province JYMSA Coordinator, the MP Jesuits and the Provincial for their generous hospitality and excellent organization, which made the gathering both fruitful and memorable.
